I love the idea that I can pick the paper, the color of the cover, and even the color of the binding.
Paper: Great (heavier than their other notebooks)
Binding: Great
Cover: The cover has disappointed me. It is flimsy and scratches easily.
Other: I would love to see an option to add an elastic closure strap, and an upgraded cover
Overall, this is a very nice option to be able to pick the kind of paper you want, and choose from a large selection of colors.

I fully agree with you on the cover issues. We are looking for a better material to produce the covers with because of the tendency to scratch that you discovered. We are testing a few options now and should have something in production shortly.
We are also working on the enclosure strap addition – something many people have requested. Since we make these in-house, we are trying to find the best material for the job. We have not been satisfied with the results so far and continue to look into brads or grommets that will provide the proper strength,
I use my Otter Blotter for journaling with a fountain pen. Many papers do not play nice with fountain pens and show heavy shadowing and bleedthrough; that is not true with Otter Blotter paper. I'm pleased with my purchase and I will be purchasing more in the future.
I needed a journal for the next couple of years, and ran across this. Getting a custom color for the cover was very reasonably priced! The journal is VERY well made, the pages are a nice heavyweight stock so they will hold up to my daily schedule and other notes. It looks elegant, too!
Love these! The metal corners add something special...I ordered 2 and am giving them as gifts...
