These are excellent quality notebooks. I don't mind the off color ribbon at all. It's still the same but at a better value.
Great price, great Christmas presents for those in the family who like to draw.
I wish the paper were smoother. It does not respond well to some fountain pens. There is some feathering.

This is a great notebook/journal for fountain pens. The paper is well-behaved, and fun to write on. I have been using mind for random writing, mathematics, drawings, and ink testing. It has worked just as good as a Leuchtturm 1917, although the paper is slightly thicker, I think. It lays flat on all pages. The cover and binding also seem very good. I have no complaints, and I will most likely buy more when the time comes.
